5 ways to start loving yourself the way you deserve to be loved

Today I am going to give you 5 tips to start loving yourself the way you deserve to be loved.

February is the month all about love - a time for Valentine's Day and remembering all about love -- emphasizing the importance of love in our lives. Do you spend time reflecting on how you deserve love too?

What does self-love look like or mean to you? Go ahead and ask yourself, "Do I love myself?" "Do I love my life that I am creating for myself?" This person, that I am, the way I look, my thoughts, my mind, my being, my vocation, my relationships? Am I crazy about myself?

I don't know, if you are anything like me, I didn't learn that loving myself was important to do. I actually learned it was being selfish and unkind to others. I learned doing unto others was the best way to be. What did you learn "loving yourself" means?

I thought it would be fun to offer you five ways to consider trying this month to loving yourself even more. What does that look like? Does it mean spending the day in bed, eating some chocolate, getting some exercise program started, eating healthy?

Well it can be mean all of the those things. When you look at the root of self love, it is about listening to inner self, your intuition. Those silent whispers, we love to ignore, there is so much wisdom within.

Here are 5 different self love tips you can try on this month. If you have more, I would love to hear all about them.

  1. Set aside 30 minutes of alone time that is dedicated for you. Use this time to do things that make you happy. Meditate, dream and visualize a life you love living. Turn off your phones, close your lap tops, computers and all devices that are taking up so much are your time. Turn off notifications and do things you love doing. Go for a walk. Hang out with yourself.

  2. Start your morning with doing something nice. Get up and walk over to your mirror and say 5 empowering things to yourself. Show yourself appreciation and feel it in every bone in your body. Embody the feeling of loving yourself.

  3. Write a daily gratitude journal. What are you grateful for? Before getting out of bed and putting our feet on the floor, reflect on 3 things you are grateful for. By having a level of generative gratitude everyday, raises our vibration. Looking at things beyond the material things, things we take for granted, like our breath we get to take each morning as we open our eyes. Smell it, breathe it, feel it.

  4. Evaluate how you are chatting to yourself. Notice your thoughts. Did you know if we change our way of thinking and feeling we will change the results we are getting in our lives? We all are getting results. If we continue to breathe over the next year, we will continue to have results. Do you like the results you are getting in your life? Take 67 seconds to challenge your thoughts. Say up until now... it was that way....

  5. Start each day as a new day. Bury the past, be present and look forward to the future you want. Focus your attention on what is good, what is working and where you want to go.
